2. Qualifications
A. Applicants must hold a doctoral (or equivalent) degree or be expected to obtain their doctoral (or equivalent) degree before the date of appointment. In
the case of failing to obtain the Ph.D. degree before the date of appointment, the hiring offer will be revoked. Applicants for College of Medicine/Dentistry
and Wonju College of Medicine must hold a professional medical license.
- Exceptions are noted in the remarks column in the academic positions table above.
- For the ‘Assistant Professor’ position in the clinical departments of the College of Medicine/Dentistry, preference is given to applicants with Ph.D. degree. / Applicants for the basic science departments at the College of Medicine who earned an nMD must also have at least two years of post-doctoral experience.
- For the ‘Assistant Professor’ position in the clinical departments of the Wonju College of Medicine, preference is given to applicants with Ph.D. degree. / Applicants for the basic science departments at the Wonju College of Medicine who earned a nMD must also have at least one year of post-doctoral experience.
B. Applicants must fulfill the qualifications defined by Korea's Ministry of Education to work at a Korean private university.
C. Applicants must respect the general Christian education principles espoused by Yonsei University.
D. A certain number of credit hours must be taught in English.
3. Document Submission
A. Required Documents for Preliminary Review [Online Submission]
1) Online Application (including List of Research Achievements & Curriculum Vitae)
2) Degree Certificates and Transcripts (Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. respectively)
3) Ph.D. Dissertation
4) Research highlights along with a statement for each achievement since March 1, 2021 (up to five achievements)
- College of Medicine/Dentistry since January 1, 2022 / Graduate School of Transdisciplinary Health Sciences since January 1, 2021
- Applicants interested in the Wonju College of Medicine who have more than five research publications can submit their research materials via mail to the Administration Office.
- A statement for each achievement should be within a page length.
- Research materials that are not successfully uploaded can be submitted via mail to the Department Administration Office.
- Accepted manuscripts can be counted for achievement with acceptance letters from Editors-in-Chief or publishers.

5) Applicants interested in the College of Medicine/Dentistry and Wonju College of Medicine must upload a copy of their professional medical licenses.
6) Applicants interested in the College of Medicine/Dentistry/Nursing, Graduate School of Transdisciplinary Health Sciences and Wonju College of Medicine
must upload verifications of their work experience.
7) Applicants interested in the College of Medicine/Dentistry, Graduate School of Transdisciplinary Health Sciences and Wonju College of Medicine must
upload a copy of personal statements and research/teaching plans (less than 2 pages in length).
8) Applicants interested in the College of Nursing must upload a copy of personal statement (less than 2 pages in length) and achievement plans.
9) Applicants interested in the Wonju College of Medicine must upload research achievements online. For more than 5 research publications, submit with a
USB containing all files saved in the order of the “List of the research publications(and/or products)” to the Administration Office. Otherwise send them via
email after consultation with the Administration Office.
B. Required Documents for Final Review (for shortlisted candidates)
- Each Department/College/School will notify shortlisted candidates of the submission deadline via email by the mid of August.
1) Original Degree Certificates and Transcripts (Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. respectively)
2) Originals or print copies of all research materials since March 1, 2021 (Online Submission)
- College of Medicine/Dentistry since January 1, 2022 / Graduate School of Transdisciplinary Health Sciences since January 1, 2021
- Applicants interested in the Wonju College of Medicine should submit the entire research publications since March 1, 2021 at the Preliminary Review step.
3) Letters of recommendation from professors or professionals in the related fields
- The applicant must provide contact information for their recommenders as part of the online application (maximum 2)
- Each Department/College/School will send recommendation requests to the recommender’s email provided by applicants.
- An image file (.pdf, .jpg, etc.) of the recommender’s stamp or signature should be included in the response email for your recommendation. A signature included in an editable file format (hwp, doc, etc.) will not be accepted.
- The applicant's full name and the name of the school/program the applicant is applying for must be specified in the letter.
- Recommendation letters for the clinical faculty positions at the College of Medicine/Dentistry and Wonju College of Medicine must include descriptions of the applicant’s clinical abilities(overall clinical experiences, medical recording capabilities, communication skills, etc.).
- Applicants for the Wonju College of Medicine may be required to submit the recommendation letters at the Preliminary Review step.
4. Online Application Submission Period
Thursday, May 15, 2025 - Wednesday, June 18, 2025 (3:00 p.m. KST)
- All materials must be uploaded online. Research materials that cannot be uploaded can be submitted within the online application submission period. Mail post must arrive at the office by 5:00 p.m. on June 18, 2025.
- Onsite submission of required documents will be accepted during regular business hours.
5. Submission Deadline for Final Review and Mailing Addresses
- Each Department/College/School will notify shortlisted candidates of the submission deadline via email by the mid of August.

6. Notification of Results
1. Preliminary review result will be notified by the mid of August via email by each Department/College/School.
2. Shortlisted candidates must submit required documents before the deadline informed by each Department/College/School. Shortlisted candidates will
also be invited for a presentation and interview.
3. Final offers will be issued via email after the end of November 2025.
7. Evaluation Policy
A. Preliminary Review
Stage 1. Qualification Check
The applicant's suitability for the position will be evaluated.
Stage 2: Academic Excellence Review
The applicant's academic excellence will be evaluated through their five major accomplishments from five years prior to the appointment date.
B. Final Review
Stage 3: Comprehensive Review
After completing stage one and two, short-listed applicants will be evaluated comprehensively for their academic research, accomplishments and excellence, as well as academic potential.
Stage 4: Interview
Short-listed applicants will be invited for a presentation (audition) or public lecture (open lesson), as well as an interview. Here, presentation skills, academic potential, and overall qualifications will be evaluated. (The interview will be arranged via teleconference if required by the recruiting committee.)

FAQs
- The official term will begin in the 2026 spring semester. However, the term can begin in the 2026 fall semester depending on the agreement between the department and candidate.
- Positions may not be filled if there are no satisfactory applicants.
- You will be disqualified from holding your position if disqualifications are found through the criminal record checks.
