About the Scholarship
The DHK Distinguished Mentor Award is an award to recognized an outstanding Korean Nursing faculty member and/or clinical practitioner who has made a significant contribution to mentoring for early career and new generation of nurses. This award was named in honor and memory of Duck-Hee Kang, PhD, RN, FAAN, President Emerita of GKNF-USA, who made indelible contributions to the mission of the Global Korean Nursing Foundation (GKNF)-USA through her generous mentoring of many young nurse scholars.
Eligibility Criteria for a Nominee
Application
Only electronic submissions by the nominator will be accepted. Nominations should be forwarded to the GKNF Award Committee chair, Jeongok Logan (jl3zj@virginia.edu) no later than May 15, 2026.
Award
The award includes a $1,000 one-time stipend and a commemorative plaque which will be presented at the GKNF award ceremony. The awardee will give a presentation describing her/his philosophy and history of mentorship.
All nominations and supporting materials will be held in confidence. The Awards Committee sends the recommendation to the Executive Committee for final selection.
